Oh Deer!

State Farm estimates that 1.5 million vehicles collide with deer every year, resulting in 150 motorists deaths and $1.1 billion in vehicle damages. With deer migrating and mating season occurring between October and December, the auto insurer says a higher number of deer are near roads this time of year. - CNN Money, Nov. 4, 2005

Well, you've guessed it! Derek and I hit a deer coming back from the GoodSeed Bible Camp on Sunday night. We PRAISE and THANK God that we are both OK, and that it wasn't too horrible of a hit. No shattered windshield or air bags inflating. Whew! Yes, the hood of the car has a big dent and the condenser and heater were shifted inside, but overall, the car still runs. I will be taking it to the auto shop on Monday when the parts come in, and it will take about 4 days to fix. Derek will be out of town during this time (more details below).

But God has impeccable timing. Just when I will be without a car, our co-worker Rachel moved into our apartment complex (earlier than expected), so I can ride with her to work. Thank you, Lord! Please pray for us that these car issues would be resolved smoothly.

Please pray for Derek, who is currently in San Diego with our co-worker Tom to represent GoodSeed at the National Outreach Convention. He returns for a night on Saturday, and then leaves again on Sunday for a week to scout out seminaries with our good friend Peter. Pray that the Lord would grant him safety and wisdom when he visits the three seminaries. Pray that He would give us clear direction in terms of which seminary we should attend next year.

More on Bible Camp to come soon. We appreciate your prayers!

No, we never eat roadkill! The game wardens clean it up.
