Besides being blessed with the teaching, we heard updates from staff working in different capacities. Here, John updates us on the TERM seminars recently held in Moldova (part of the former Soviet Union). While previously closed to the Gospel, Moldova now has the biggest Bible school in Eastern Europe, attended by students from many different countries. While the GS team taught in English, the teaching was simultaneously translated into Russian and Romanian.

During break, Derek and I catch up with Roger and Renee (behind Carol and Corrie), volunteers with GS in Canada. Roger and Renee are so encouraging. They have a wonderful testimony of how Christ delivered them from "the dominion of darkness" -- the New Age movement -- and brought them into the Kingdom of light.

"BonneSemence" means GoodSeed in French. Gaetan, from our Quebec office, shares about the ministry among the French-speaking Canadians, one of the hardest-to-reach people groups in the world because of their very traditional Catholic background. Gaetan told us that among the Catholics in Quebec, it is commonly said that to read the Bible for yourself would make one "go crazy." Becoming a Christian is considered "going against" your culture.

Timothée and Lillianne, a couple who just joined our Quebec office (and an answer to prayer for more help there). Tim is originally from France and Lillianne is from Quebec. We had fun practicing our French -- yes, the whole two sentences I can say in French -- with them.

Paul, Russ, John and Barney having a seemingly serious discussion...

while some of us others share light-hearted conversation and games.
