Our speaker for Bible camp this year, Charlie Clough, and his wife Carol. The teaching was excellent! We were challenged to think about how the fallen world has corrupted truth and how we can get through the layers of corruption to help people know the truth. Much to digest. Carol also taught the women one afternoon. We were doubly blessed to have them with us!
Visual aid time! As you may know, GoodSeed is big on using visual aids to teach biblical truths. Here are my favorite two presented at Bible camp.Paul H.: "If I am trying to find my way somewhere with a compass, but at the same time I have a huge magnet around my neck, I'll never get anywhere. A lot of people in the world are trying to find their way to God, but they have a huge magnet around their necks that polarize the compass self-ward. Instead of going in the right direction, they have exchanged 'true north' for their own ideas and efforts."
During communion, Paul B. reminded us of Christ's redeeming work by teaching on the curtain separating the Holies of Holies from the Holy Place in the tabernacle. The colors used to weave the curtain were red, purple and blue. Paul used colored water to demonstrate how blue (representing deity) plus red (representing blood or humanity) is purple (the perfect Jesus, fully God and fully man). When Christ died on the cross, the curtain in the temple was torn in half from top to bottom. Christ's body was broken for us so that we can come to God through Him.
