Four months old

Hey, look everyone! I'm sitting up!

Can you believe four months have passed since Evan was born...?

Evan had his 4-month check-up at the doctor's on Wednesday and everything looks fine. He now weighs 16 lb 12 oz and is 26 inches long--both weight and height are in the 90th percentile. We have a big and healthy boy!

Besides grabbing everything within his reach--his toys, things on the bathroom counter when we're changing him after his bath, mommy's hair and necklace--Evan can now roll over from his tummy to his back, roll over halfway from his back to his tummy (he gets stuck and yells for help), and sit upright in his Bumbo seat for a short period of time (beyond that, his head starts getting too heavy). He also smiles and talks a lot and is much more sociable.

He eats five times and takes three naps a day, and usually sleeps through the night. He behaves really well at his babysitter's and in the church nursery (thank God!). Of course, he has his share of bad days too. But we are thankful for his generally good temperament.

We have just finished our second week of school and are still afloat. Going to school with a baby is so different! But working ahead in the summer helped a lot, and we have learned to work more efficiently and not waste as much time. That's a good thing :)
