It's almost May... time for another update!
Perishable bodies
April has been a busy month. To start off, Chantal had to get a wisdom tooth removed. Thankfully, the tooth was impacted in soft tissue, not bone, so it required only local anesthesia. It took a total of 5 minutes to pull out and there were no complications. Whew! On the subject of healthcare, both of us had to get new contacts recently, plus new glasses for Chantal since hers broke in Korea.
Although we haven't had any more major medical problems (thank God for that), sometimes we forget that our physical bodies are always in need of such maintenance. We can't wait until we have imperishable bodies in heaven!
A blessed Easter weekend
Easter was a good time of worship and fellowship. Our church had a special outreach on Easter. Chantal worked in the nursery and it was pretty crazy with 40 toddlers (twice the normal number) pushing and trying to strangle each other. We were blessed to have Easter dinner on Saturday with the Fosters and Smyths and Easter brunch on Sunday with the Staples family.
Spring is the time for weddings and showers
The weekend after that, we attended the wedding of our friends Norm and Mandie here in Coeur d'Alene. We were the "chocolate fountain attendants" at their reception. Who would've guessed that dipping strawberries and cream puffs in melted chocolate would be so much fun? It was a beautiful wedding and we are so happy for the newlyweds. (Everything kinda reminded us of our own wedding only 9 months ago :).
The next day was Leeann's baby shower. It was a fun shower with lots of pink things. We can't wait to meet little Summer.
Speaking of summer...er, spring, the weather in CdA is gorgeous! The sky is clear, the sun is shining and the cherry trees are blossoming. The groundhogs in the grassy lot across our office are poking their heads out of their holes and scurrying about.
Work (it's hard to stay indoors when it's so nice outside!)
Derek has been doing a bunch of things to improve the GoodSeed and Tabernacle Place sites, including an estimated shipping price generator, which has been very helpful. He has also listed the sites on Froogle, which has done much to improved our visibility and sales. He continues to work on keyword research.
Chantal has been conducting interviews to write testimonies about GoodSeed products for the Web site and newsletters. She is also working on staff interviews for future newsletters.
What does May look like?
We will be in Canada from May 4 to 18 to work with Peter H. (the missionary in Sweeter Than Honey) and John C. to finish up the book. Pray for a productive time and a safe trip!
Chantal's parents and sister will be visiting from May 22-24 and then we will all head to Michigan for a few days to attend her cousin's wedding. We'll be back on May 30.
Seminary
Derek has been accepted to the Th. M. program at Dallas Theological Seminary for the fall. Chantal has recently applied to the one-year Graduate Certificate Studies program at Dallas but has not heard back yet. We are planning to move to Dallas in early August and will be looking for housing and part-time jobs. Please pray for the move and transition!
That's it for now! Thanks for reading and praying!
