It's Christmas Eve, and we're packing! Our flight to Hong Kong leaves at 8 a.m. tomorrow--Christmas Day.
We'll be in Hong Kong for a week and Taiwan for a week to visit our families. It'll be a lot of firsts for Evan: his first Christmas and New Year's, first time out of the country, first trans-Pacific flight, and first time to see his great grandparents--both my maternal grandparents and Derek's paternal grandmother. Evan doesn't know yet, but we're sure excited for him! His grandparents (our parents) have also been eagerly anticipating their grandson's visit too :)
We're also a bit nervous about the flight there: It's a full flight from San Francisco to Hong Kong, 14+ hours, and we're both seated in middle seats--on different rows! We hope that Evan won't be too fussy. But regardless, we pray that we'll have good attitudes and joyful spirits whatever happens.
Please pray for us: For safe travels, that Evan will do well on the flight, that he'll overcome jetlag quickly, that we'll have a good time with our extended families, and that we'll be a testimony to our family members who do not yet know Christ. We return on Jan. 10, right before spring semester starts.
During this Christmas season, we also want to say THANK YOU to all our family and friends for your prayers and support during our seminary training. It is a privilege for us to be here and we are certainly blessed by your care and love.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
