Three months old

Evan is three months old today!

Our happy baby

At three months, Evan...
  • weighs about 15 lb and is 25.5 inches long
  • has outgrown all of his 0-3 month outfits
  • responds to people by smiling
  • laughs out loud and "talks" by making all sorts of cooing sounds
  • can grab a toy in front of him
  • recognizes Mommy's and Daddy's voices and turns toward them
  • goes down for naps 4x a day without crying
  • is beginning to sleep 9-10 continuous hours at night (has done it four nights and we're hoping for more!)
Hey everyone!

I like sleep :)

How he has grown in just three months!

His first day of life

One week old (with Po po and Gung gung)

Two weeks old

Nine weeks old

Ten weeks old

Eleven weeks old (with Auntie Sandy, Baby Gracie and Auntie Catherine)

Twelve weeks old

We are so thankful for our healthy boy and his development over the past three months. He sleeps and eats relatively well and has a good temperament. It is exciting to see him learning new skills every day. He is getting to be so much fun!

Stepping into parenthood was stressful and tiring in the beginning. But God is gracious, and He provided us lots of help from family and friends. I am also thankful for the other moms in our apartment complex, who continue to give me advice and encouragement.

Currently Derek is in his last week of summer school (intensive Hebrew). He'll have two weeks of break before fall semester starts, when he will be taking five classes and doing an internship at our church, Arlington Chinese Church. I will also be taking three classes in the fall...so, yes, it'll be pretty crazy!

Pray for us:
  • that Evan would continue to thrive and be healthy
  • that God would grant us wisdom and patience as parents. Every day is a new adventure!
  • that we would be efficient in our studies and be equipped with knowledge that will help us in our future ministry
  • that God would guide us toward the right ministry after graduation (still two years away, but not too soon to think about!)
