Evan arrived 10 days early, something totally unexpected! When he came, his dad and mom were not finished with their final papers yet, so they applied for extensions, which were graciously granted by the school. We are overjoyed with Evan's arrival and marvel at the progress he has already made within the last 10 days of his life (eating better, crying less). His jaundice, which was a concern to the doctor at first, is almost all gone.
Taking care of Evan is a full-time job! But we are thankful for my parents helping out (they arrived on May 11) and the abundant help and love we have received from all our brothers and sisters here in Dallas! We have had homemade meals delivered to our house since the day we got back from the hospital, and friends have volunteered to go grocery shopping and run errands for us. THANKS for all your help! We wouldn't have made it without you! We are reminded daily through you that God's grace is sufficient.
Please pray for us as we adjust to the new responsibilities of parenthood, and for our papers that have not been turned in yet (everything is now due on May 23). It's hard to find the time and attention to do homework when there's a new baby in the house. But in all of this we continue to give thanks to the Father, the giver of all good things.
