At the start of the new year, we hope to keep you better informed about our lives and ministry with this P2 (Prayer Points) letter--and be more diligent at keeping our blog up-to-date! We will try to post these P2 prayer letters a few times a year. Thank you so much for praying for us.
Chantal’s Pregnancy
We praise and thank God that Chantal has been having a very smooth pregnancy so far. We just had our second sonogram yesterday at 22 weeks and 1 day. Everything came back normal and the baby is healthy. Please continue to pray for the health of both mother and child, and that the delivery will be without any complications. Due date is May 15, 2008.
We decided not to find out the gender of the baby, so you’ll just have to wait till May! =)School and Family Life
After a fruitful and relaxing stay in Idaho and Alberta, where we revisited friends from our time at GoodSeed, we are now back in Dallas, refreshed and ready for this new semester. Chantal will continue to take classes and complete an internship this semester. The baby is due one week after final exams! Please pray for us as we adjust as a family to the coming of the baby, for strength and wisdom, and for our walk with God and continual trust in Him.
Sweeter Than Honey
After we finished our internships with GoodSeed in July 2006, Chantal continued working with general editor Leah Humphreys to finalize the manuscript of Sweeter Than Honey. We are now waiting on sidebars and an appendix to be written by another GS staff member. Please continue to pray for the completion of this project!
Future Direction
As we approach the half-way mark of our time at DTS, we’re still seeking and awaiting God’s will regarding our future direction after seminary. Our desire remains to minister overseas,
though the destination and type of ministry remains unclear. Please pray that we will be both patient and active in seeking God’s will.
Local Ministries
As we become more involved at our church, Arlington Chinese Church, please pray that we will become better servants to the local body of believers. We will continue with our outreach ministry on Friday nights, and Derek will also be teaching Chinese adult Sunday School. Chantal’s internship in teaching ESL is another opportunity to minister to the Chinese community.
