"Birthday" blessings

Tomorrow this blog celebrates its first birthday. Funny how one year ago, our first update was on our apartment situation back in Idaho. Today, I look at how God provided for us--in a similar way--this apartment in Dallas, and I smile. Two similar provisions, exactly a year apart.

I'll never forget how last year God blessed us with a washer and dryer and provided so abundantly everything we needed through our first year of marriage, even though I'd worried my head off so often.

Today, I stand in awe as I witness again how God has provided for our needs. Over the past few months, I had worried about how we would pay for the upcoming "mountain" of tuition and month-to-month living expenses incurred while in seminary. But through His faithful provision, God gently reminded me again to trust Him. We have received more than we could ever have imagined, and we are deeply grateful to our Lord and to His people who have so generously shared what they have with us.

We are blessed; we do not take what He has given us for granted. And as this online journal moves on to its second year, may it be even more a testmony and a record of His amazing grace and love.
