Introducing the CBC Writers Guild

One of the most fun and rewarding things I've gotten to do here in Coeur d'Alene is participate in the local church's writers guild. There are professional and amateur writers in the guild. Some are published authors, some are writing instructors and some are professionals in other fields who just love to write.

I've learned so much from this group! Every two weeks, we get together to share news and critique each other's writing. The advice I've received has helped me a lot in writing Sweeter Than Honey. Reading other writers' work has helped me appreciate different genres and styles of writing and learn some new techniques. But above all, the friendship and fellowship has been just incredible. It's a blessing when God puts other people around you with whom you can share your gifts/interests and encourage each other to use them well to God's glory.

Recently, our group put together a chapbook, a collection of short articles and artwork. I helped with the layout and formatting. It was such an accomplishment! Here we are celebrating our first publication. We are planning to distribute them at church in August.

I will miss all the folks in our writers guild. I hope they continue their ministry of encouragement and writing for the glory of God. All the best to you!
