GS's Canadian office is situated on the farmland of our good friends, the K. family. We got to join in some of the spring planting action. See how big this John Deere tractor was... its wheel was taller than me!
Trevor let Derek have a go at driving his tractor. This was Derek's first time ever driving manual transmission, and it was on this monster! He did a pretty good job, though. :)
On Mother's Day, we gathered at John & Janice's house to celebrate Janice, who has been a "mom" to many of us, and our co-worker Leslie, a soon-to-be-mom. We had good ol' Alberta beef (steak).
Our co-worker Andrew invited us to a party at the new house he built. Derek cooked a scrumptious Chinese meal for 15 (with some help from the girls). It was a wonderful time of fellowship with the GS Canada staff and the K. family. There was also some prank involving vinegar ice cubes...but that's another story.
On our last day in Olds, we had dinner with our co-workers Jim and Leslie, who are originally from Texas. They are expecting a little girl (nicknamed Buttercup) in September. We'll miss all our dear friends in Canada when we move down south... John & Janice (J&J), Roger & Renee (R&R), Julie (J-dog), Andrew, Jim & Les, Paul & Kathleen and Corrie (who has already moved back to S. Carolina). May God bless all of you and keep you!
