Derek has been in Canada for three days, driving Barney (our co-worker) up for eye surgery and back. This is the first time in our married life that he has been away, and we didn't even get to talk on the phone or e-mail! I missed him! But he will be home tonight.
A quiet few days at the office as Barney and Derek are in Canada, and Rachel is out sick. For two days, I am the only one in our office suite (there are only the four of us in Suite 7). I savor the peace and quiet as I work amidst the familiar sounds of the neon lights above me buzzing, the hot water kettle bubbling and clicking off, the printing making its occasional shifting sounds, and the cars whizzing by outside on Government Way. As morning turns into noon, the sun's rays pour through the glass door to the office suite, warming it up like a greenhouse. I smile. It is another good day at GoodSeed!

God is good to give me reminders. He knows I need them on this journey!
I came across this verse twice this week already: “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” (Col. 3:1-4)
And twice this (coincidence?): “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world — the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does — comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.” (1 John 2:15-17)
